The Management Trainee (MT) program at Stock Broker Company is designed to groom high-potential candidates into future Business Relationship Officers. The trainee will undergo a structured 6-month program combining practical exposure, client interaction, and business development responsibilities.

In addition to operational learning, the MT will actively contribute to client onboarding, business sourcing, and revenue enhancement initiatives, aligning with the company’s growth objectives.

This role is best suited for individuals who are committed to building a long-term career in the capital market, stock brokerage, and investment services industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training & Functional Learning

 

  • Undergo structured training on: 
     o Capital market operations and NEPSE trading system 
     o Client onboarding process, documentation, and regulatory compliance (KYC/AML)
     o Margin trading, risk management, and settlement procedures 
  • Participate in internal training programs, case studies, and periodic evaluations 

 

2. Client Onboarding & Account Activation

 

  • Actively support and execute client onboarding processes, including: 
     o Client sourcing and initial engagement
     o KYC documentation collection and verification
     o Coordination with back-office for account opening and activation
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of client records 
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding experience to enhance client satisfaction 

 

3. Business Development & Client Sourcing (Target-Based)

 

  • Contribute to business growth through active client acquisition and sourcing efforts 
  • Identify potential clients through personal networks, referrals, and market outreach 
  • Achieve assigned targets related to:
     o Number of new client accounts opened
     o Volume/value-based client activation
     o Portfolio or revenue contribution (as defined by management) 
  • Support and participate in marketing campaigns, investor awareness programs, and promotional activities 

4. Client Relationship Management

 

  • Assist in maintaining and strengthening relationships with clients 
  • Address client queries related to trading, portfolio, and account services 
  • Ensure high standards of client service and communication 
  • Support Senior Relationship Officers/Managers in client engagement and retention strategies 

5. Operations & Execution Support

 

  • Assist in trade execution support, order handling, and coordination with dealing team 
  • Support back-office operations including settlement, reconciliation, and reporting 
  • Maintain proper documentation and operational records 

6. Research & Market Awareness

 

  • Track daily stock market movements and prepare basic market summaries 
  • Develop foundational knowledge in fundamental and technical analysis 
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, SEBON/NEPSE guidelines, and market developments 

 

Learning Outcomes (Post Training Placement)

Upon successful completion of the training period, the trainee will be placed as:

  • Junior Business Relationship Officer or Business Relationship Officer based on individual performance, business contribution, and organizational requirements.
